Yes, you can use a handheld POS on your own tablet or smartphone. In that case, only the basic features will be available: taking orders and closing the check. Printing and payment processing will not be available because standard tablets and smartphones lack built-in printers.

If you want full mobile POS functionality — including taking orders, processing payments, closing checks, and printing receipts or invoices — we recommend using Sunmi devices.

Yes. On Sunmi devices, servers can accept card, contactless, or mobile payments directly at the table.

Yes. Sunmi devices include a built-in printer, so servers can print a receipt or ticket directly at the table.

Yes. Orders entered on the server via the mobile device are automatically sent to the kitchen KDS screen or the kitchen printer.
