What’s New at UpMenu (January 2024)

Content

Welcome to the January edition of ‘What’s New?’. This month, we’re introducing:

  1. New customer and staff notifications
  2. Four new website templates
  3. Improved website editor (link widget)
  4. Switch online orders on/off from your mobile app
  5. Simplified activation and deactivation of discount coupons

1. New customer and staff notifications

We have updated our Notifications section.

Before the change, you could only select whether you wish to send SMS or Email notifications. Now you can also choose when to use and when not to use push notifications. This change is applicable to both customer and staff notifications.

For example, if you only wish to send your customers SMS and PUSH notifications once you’ve accepted their order, you will only check the two boxes. To do so, log in to your UpMenu account, go to Settings > General > Notifications, and select the boxes you wish to use.

We’ve also introduced more in-house notification options to make staff communication easier.

  • Possible refund: You can set the ‘Possible refund’ notification to receive a reminder about refund you might have to issue. This applies, for example, if you had to cancel an order a customer had already paid for.
  • Daily summary: You can choose to receive a daily summary of your restaurant’s performance.

2. Four new website templates

We’re expanding our template selection to include every type of restaurant. That way, no matter what restaurant business you own, you have a collection of ready-made templates to choose from.

This month, we’re introducing 4 new templates:

  • Two burger place templates
  • Two pizza place templates

3. Improved website editor (link widget)

You can now link your restaurant’s phone number and email address within the text on your website. To do this, login to your UpMenu account, go to Shop settings > Website Editor > Edit website.

4. Switch online orders on/off from your mobile app

You can now turn online ordering on and off right from your mobile app.

It can be a useful backup feature if your desktop computer breaks down or if your systems are overwhelmed during a holiday and you need to quickly close orders for the day.

This change, just like any other change we make, was possible thanks to your feedback. Let us know what you think about this change by filling out the form you can find below in the video description.

5. Simplified activation and deactivation of discount coupons

You can now easily activate and deactivate your promotional coupons from your UpMenu admin dashboard. To do it, login to your admin account, go to Marketing > Coupons and tap See codes.

That’s it for January. Thank you for your continued support and feedback. We hope you’ll find these changes useful. Help us deliver a better product by providing us with your feedback here.

See you next time!
